At them moment I'm hunting for doubles as input for Mathias Feist for CB8 I found A LOT total different games (more than 1000), with total different playersname, years, tournamentplace, etc and with EXACTLY the SAME moves.. (comments, variants, etc) Have a strong feeling that CB7 corrupted my database before I sent it to Dann Corbit and that total different games became the same (Chessbase uses pointers to moves and I think a lot of headers where pointing to the same moves). My database contained 2.76 milion games when I send it to Dann Corbit. I splitted it into 5 files with different ECO's. Some of the files where processed by Dann Corbit other not. So some eco-files containts corruptions and some not. It seems to be the most games which are corrupted are with variants and between the years 1920 - 1947 but I shall try to be more precize so Dann can clean up some files.... So be warned before importing all the games in your gamedatabase... Generating openingbooks from in it is ofcourse ok.
