Subject: Why Don't More Chess Programs Have An Adjournment Feature?

I am curious as to why more programs don't have an adjournment feature like
Chessmaster, which allows you to adjourn the game and saves the time remaining
for each player.  For those of us who want to play longer games with the
computer, but don't have blocks of several hours available for doing so, this is
an important feature.  Is it unusually difficult to program?  Does doing so mean
giving up other features?
