I encountered some sort of cut/paste error when I cut the FEN and loaded it into xboard so I could look at the position. I ended up with an extra black pawn on the queenside, which makes a _huge_ difference in the final position as after the black and white rook and a black and white pawn are removed, black has a passer that white can't ignore, so that he can't run and gobble on the kingside without losing to the new black queen. I will try this on the latest version of Crafty later tonight as this is exactly the kind of position I have been working on fixing recently. If IE it understands that this position, with a white pawn on the b file is dead lost, due to the outside passer. But as soon as the pawn is captured, it no longer evaluates it as won until white has time to gobble a couple of pawns. That is an error that I have almost fixed...
