I am not sure I understand 1.) Couldn't Chest find the shortest mate within reasonable time ? (What does Chest rhyme to ? ;) ) 2.) How do you define ply ? Full alpha-beta ply or may I razor and prune as long as I find the shortest mate ? Regards, Georg v. Zimmermann
