Here's a unique chess problem -- well, I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. Elkies,N - [=3002.54h5a5], Christmas puzzle 1994 [D]8/1p6/1p6/kPp2P1K/2P5/N1Pp4/q2P4/1N6 w - - 0 1 (wKh5,Na3,b1,Pb5,c3,c4,d2,f5/bKa5,Qa2,Pb6,b7,c5,d3) White to play and draw. The solution starts 1.f6 Qb3 2.f7 Qd1+ 3.Kh6!! I wonder if anyone can think of why this move can be forced and what the point of the problem is. I was going to post the problem as a reply to something further below, but then people would immediately know what it's all about (hint!).
