Besides the resources already mentioned, you might check out: Checker from the FSF: http://prep.ai.mit.edu/software/checker/checker.html This is a "debugging malloc" library. However it appears to only work for the gcc compiler, and the old one at that (2.8.1). mpatrol (http://www.cbmamiga.demon.co.uk/mpatrol/) is a similar free program. This one seems more generic and will works on multiple operating systems with multiple compilers - however it is not clear that it works on C++ code. If your program is C not C++ I'd recommend it. As previously mentioned, there is also Bounds Checker, which is excellent, but is for Windows only and is not free. --Jon
