When will six man tablebases be available? Dr. Nalimov has already produced a number of them, though all pawnless I imagine. I don't know if he has written the code to generate those with pawns yet. Also (I think) Peter Karrer may have written some code that will allow the generation to be done in chunks, such that people can volunteer ordinary computers (those with less than 512 meg of RAM that is) to contribute to generating them. This is based on bits and pieces I have read here, I don't know what the current status of the 6-piece tablebase project is. Perhaps someone else here can give us an update.
