Dr. Nalimov has already produced a number of them, though all pawnless I
imagine. I don't know if he has written the code to generate those with pawns
yet. Also (I think) Peter Karrer may have written some code that will allow the
generation to be done in chunks, such that people can volunteer ordinary
computers (those with less than 512 meg of RAM that is) to contribute to
generating them. This is based on bits and pieces I have read here, I don't know
what the current status of the 6-piece tablebase project is. Perhaps someone
else here can give us an update.
