Yes, it's just one piece constrained in a triangle, and the others allowed to be anywhere. My files are smaller than Edwards' and larger than Nalimov's. I had a bunch of dependencies upon "8" and "64" in the code, and a few precomputed tables, but I just generalized things a bit and it seems to work. I wonder how far I could get with 6 x 6 chess? Powers of 36 are quite a bit better than powers of 64. bruce
