I think that Fritz chose a bad book line.

This kind of games is one of the reasons that I expect deminishing return from
speed.
When you get into a bad position out of book better hardware can help you in
blitz but cannot help at long time control.

I believe that Fritz could do nothing to save the game after the opening but I
may be wrong and this is only my first impression.
