Some sort of release of 64 bit chips will probably happen this year, but they will be scarce, expensive and for most programs, slow. Expect things to get better in the second half of 2001, or maybe even early 2002. At the moment the AMD 64 bitters are looking better, but with a year or so still to wait for proper volume production, this could change. If you are interested in this kind of stuff, there are several good websites to watch, that get all the news and rumours. One example is www.aceshardware.com
