Leaving computers aside for a moment, if I may, speaking as a practical player,
drawing with a R vs. R+B even in theoretically drawn positions is not easy at
all, unless you have the theory at your fingertips. I read somewhere (some GM
wrote it) that a rating difference of 300 points converts to a win expectation
of 90 %, no matter what the position is. I can readily believe that.

R+N vs. R I know from hard experience: I did manage to draw that once (I had the
solitary Rook, I should perhaps add :-) against a player rated about 200 higher
than me. It is *a lot* easier. (Presuming, of course, that the position is a
theoretical draw to begin with.)
