------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uri Blass Is Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. A gentleman named Uri Blass: he played the game of chess with class. Problems hard for Dann to face were solved with ease and style and grace. With Postal games, he had a flair, and so he took my silly dare. A problem that I could not reach -- for him: like resting at the beach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michel Langeveld Is Stupendously Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. Sometimes the problems I am facing set my mind to rapid racing. When I see the alley's blind -- can't go ahead, can't go behind... Sometimes I think there's no solution (like my brain is in pollution.) I see a fog of murky haze, and stumble in a stupid daze But men like Michel Langeveld can scatter dogmas firmly held. Even though I could not do it, Michel clearly saw right through it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gian-Carlo Pascutto Is Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. To Gian-Carlo Pascutto, I must give a grand Kudo, Congratulations are in order for smashing through my '16 border' "Sixteen plies are far too deep! When I tried, it made me weep." But when *I* imagine "... Never!" -- other minds are far more clever. Gian-Carlo did not fail, although I ducked and tucked my tail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gian-Carlo Pascutto Is Laughably Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. To calculate the sixteenth power made me want to hit the shower. Thirty moves, on average played from any board position made? There's just no way -- it can't be done. What?! You think it might be *FUN*?! I puzzled till my brain was hurting -- until the sweat was almost spurting! I surely tried with all my might. You found the answer?! Yes, you're right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gian-Carlo Pascutto Is Absurdly Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. When I stumbled in the dark, and desperation found its mark Gian-Carlo Pascutto, showed _he's_ the one who's in the know. I could not see any path, for I lacked the proper math. But Gian-Carlo wasn't stumbled (even though I sure was humbled.) The contest joined, the battle won -- not one or two but _three_ were done! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pete Berger Is Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. I saw problems rising higher, I got bogged down in deepest mire. When I faced them, I got decked... But I lacked Pete's intellect. Yes, Pete Berger was not fazed, though I said, "You must be crazed!" Better men than me have failed, I certainly (like them) derailed. Certainly, they're much too hard -- and do you work at Scottland Yard? All my blows were wimpy glancers, but Pete went out and found the answers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pete Berger Is Comically Smarter Than I Am, And Better Looking Too. These chess positions I was facing, lead to nothing but disgracing. The problem seemed like _some_ hum-dinger but Pete was rolling like "Der Bringer." "There isn't any need to try it!" -- but Mr. Berger made me quiet. I was wrong, that much is plain, it seems I really missed the train. While I winced in consternation, with Pete aboard, it left the station. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
