CA has speed, and is an excellent opening study tool. As you mentioned, you've got IM/GM analysis from the Openings 2000 database, computer analysis from CAP (and Tiger), and a very fast chess tree. The tree format is such that you can store a tree for 1 million+ games in <200 Megs of hard drive space. CB format trees require much more space. There are also a host of other analysis tools that are not present on any other program (combined search for pawn structure and material, marking of individual positions for analysis). You can also use MCS engines with CA (like Shredder 3/4, maybe 5?). And while CA is fantastic, CB has the edge in look and feel - it's more polished (especially version 8). Hopefully, once CB 8 is released, I'll have a review of that up on my page also. But I don't know whether I'll be doing an updated CA/CB comparison soon (if ever), because of the work involved. There are alot of CA examples in my book, so it's at least worth a look at your local Borders. Bob P.
