Mattel has already sold The Learning Company to Gores Technology Group, which is (in)famous for turning around troubled tech companies (such as The Learning Company). Mindscape, as a company, no longer exists; it is now just a brand name that The Learning Company uses, along with Red Orb, SSI, Broderbund, PF Magic and others (which all USED to be companies, but were bought/absorbed by The Learning Company). However, the Chessmaster development team is still on schedule to ship their product in a few weeks, meaning that it will arrive in the stores in early November. Gores has no reason not to ship a product that has already been in Beta for a month. jm
