Your are incorrect on all counts.

Mattel has already sold The Learning Company to Gores Technology Group, which is
(in)famous for turning around troubled tech companies (such as The Learning
Company).

Mindscape, as a company, no longer exists; it is now just a brand name that The
Learning Company uses, along with Red Orb, SSI, Broderbund, PF Magic and others
(which all USED to be companies, but were bought/absorbed by The Learning
Company).

However, the Chessmaster development team is still on schedule to ship their
product in a few weeks, meaning that it will arrive in the stores in early
November. Gores has no reason not to ship a product that has already been in
Beta for a month.
