I don't understand this sentence ! Which Fritz thing ? And why is it out
of control ?? What is the meaning ??`

>But all of the programs have been tested and rated.

As far as I know Fritz5 is not rated yet.

As I said, I think software of the year 1997 by KK is ok. 97 is over !!
:-)

Let it be software of the year 1997 !
But don't tell me it can play chess like other programs.
I don't see no reason to believe this.

Of course I am unfair !

Look, it was the first game ! I wanted to test the just before
downloaded CSTAL white chris announced here. One of my favourite
opponents is, since KK and others propagate it, Fritz5. :-)

I did not CHOSE a hash size. I have to k6/200 Mhz machines with the same
amount of Ram and hardware power.
Fritz5 got what he is able to get from OS. Not my problem that
Genius5-WIN gets more hash and can use it better, the same with
Virtual2-win95 and also with CM5000-WIN95. The same with Shredder2. ALL
THESE WIN-PROGRAMS ARE ABLE TO USE THE RAM ON MY MACHINES n o r m a l.
ONLY PROGRAM THAT HAS PROBLEMS IS *your* program of the year.
From my point of view a real handicap. A program of the year that has
problems with k6-cpu's and "less" ram meanwhile all other WIN programs
run perfectly under the same conditions and get better ELO's in sweden
(where also some people test programs).
So : unfair ? Hm.

>

Choooooose ??
Why should I buy an Intel CPU when the k6 is cheaper and faster with the
same Mhz ? CSTal nor shredder2 nor Virtual2 nor Genius5-win nor CM5000
were OPTIMISED for INTEL! If they castrate themselves - why should this
be MY problem. WHen somebody is doing self-destroyment, why should it be
MY fault ?
As I said Don, NO OTHER WIN CHESS PROGRAM (and Virtual2 and Shredder2
and CM5000 and Genius5-WIN are STRONG PROGRAMS TOOOOOOOO ) is doing it.
It is unfair of ChessBase to castrate their program ! Unfair to the
customers, because maybe SOME OF THE CUSTOMERS HAVE READ THE ADVICE IN
THE computer-schach and Spiele magazin: BUY k6/CPU !!
And now they have bought them and now it is announced: program of the
year xyz is not running optimal on it due to an * optimization * !! Ha -
very funny Don !

> d) You played only 1 game, a virtually meaningless result.

Right. It was the first game. And I do comment all games. But this was
the first. Did I say that this is important. I referred in the comments
to the strange behaviour of Fritz. And you do as if I attack ChessBase
and Moritz sees a big conspiracy against the whole universe , especially
Frederic Friedel.
When I attack Fred, I do it more sensible, and he will not even SEE that
it is ME causing him trouble.

Great meaning ?? I don't understand this word.

!!! Strong personal agenda ? What is this
COuld you please tell me more about the above. I don't understand you.

> NO I'm not accusing you cheating.

Emotional biases while watching a chess program ???
Construct a scientific result. Dear Bob - I am not Wernherr von Braun. I
want to play chess and not launch a rocket to the moon.
Properly ??
Ha.

> It's extremely easy to bias a test without even
>knowing it and I'm extremely distrustful of results that are reported

And it is especially easy for Fritz, as we have seen, to play worse due
to several strange possibilities between hardware, software and the
human beeing operating it.

>How many games were played in Paris?

11 !

>I really do not think enough
>games were played to get a true sense of what Fritz is capable of.

TRUE SENSE.
Of course your sense is much truer than mine. Most because
YOU don't have fritz, but me.
This gives you a great scientific advantage.
I remember Bob did the same in the shredder /virtual discussion. He had
no virtual but he was sure shredder was stronger (because of jakarta).
But I had both at home, shredder2-beta AND virtual2-beta.

And I knew that they would rank very high.
Maybe because me biased way of unscientifical testing was unproper
enough for my reality :-)

>I know you think of yourself as a brilliant artist and not as a

I am no artist. I am not brilliant. I am weaker than the average.

>cold logical scientist but surely you understand that a little
>common sense has it's place too?

Common sense on what ? Can you tell me what you speak about. Common
sense can mean much.

> You are treating everyone as
>if they were idiots.

I am treating nobody. I play a game and post it. The only idiots are the
guys who make a big story out of it because they have whatever reasons.

BTW: how do you treat idiots ? I mean: What does this mean for you ?
