Incorrect. By default, the Chessmaster personality and Crafty have pondering on,
and this was a tournament using default settings. Keep in mind my clarification
of this being a "useless" tournament.

Yes. Chessmaster cannot assume anything about any imported engine, so if you
want to turn off pondering, you have to specifically tell Crafty so in its rc
file.

Yes. Both engines getting between 48 and 49.5 % of the CPU at almost all times
(occasional dip due to some Windows silliness, I'm sure).

Yes, assuming they are 100% compliant.

Yes. There does not have to a Chessmaster personality playing.
