Incorrect. By default, the Chessmaster personality and Crafty have pondering on, and this was a tournament using default settings. Chessmaster cannot assume anything about any imported engine, so if you want to turn off pondering, you have to specifically tell Crafty so in its rc file. >Did you check pondering with something like Taskinfo 2000?.
