It has nothing to do with IDE interface speed. No harddrive today needs the
ATA/100. But your 20GB hard drive might be faster (is it IBM DeskStar? - it is
the best). But I think that the biggest reason for your result is the number of
games - 30 is just too little. Play 270 more and post the results. Then we'll
draw some conclusions!
