3.3???? This is way too much!!!

I'm not sure, but I guess such a high voltage can damage the chip! And it's a
sure way to have it overheating!

The correct values for AMD K6-2 are 2.2 or 2.4 (at the speed you are running).
However you did not mention the kind of processor you are using. Maybe 3.3 is
valid for yours, but switching from 2.2 to 3.3 sounds really wrong.

Go as low as 300 or 200 MHz. It will not hurt. It's only for the test.
