These positions are from the latest match chessmaster8000-Crafty17.13 that was posted here. My impression from the match is that crafty has king safety problems and lost some games by king attacks. 1)[D]4bb1k/4qn1p/5p2/2Q1p1p1/1r2P3/1BN2P2/5BPP/3R2K1 w - - 0 1 In this position chessmaster8000 played Qd5 instead of Qxe7 that wins a pawn and drew the game. I am interested to know how much time does chessmaster8000 need to find Qxe7. I tried Chessmaster6000 and after 2 hours that it did not find Qxe7 and I gave up. Later I gave it the moves Qxe7 Bxe7 and it needed some minutes to find the obvious Bxf7. 2)The following position is in another game between the 2 programs. [D]r4rk1/p2n2pp/3qpp2/3B4/3P4/P4N2/2Q2PPP/3RR1K1 b - - 0 1 Crafty played exd5. This move is losing a pawn and the right move was Qxd5. After 23...exd5 24.Nh4 Rfc8 25.Qd3 g6 26.Nxg6 white won a pawn and the game. Black could probably improve in moves 24 and 25(alternatives are 24..Rae8 or 25...Re8) but I think that black cannot prevent losing a pawn after 23...exd5 3)In another game Crafty blundered in the following position by Qa2 and after Nxd3 Qe2+ Ne5 got a bad endgame [D]8/4kp2/3q2p1/1Pn4p/3p1P1P/3B2P1/2Q5/6K1 w - - 0 1 4)In another game Crafty blundered by a bad trade and lost the game. Here is the relevant position: [D]2r3k1/1br2pb1/pp4pp/3p4/P2Nq3/1P2P3/3QNPPP/1R1R2K1 b - - 0 1 Crafty played Rc2 that is bad because of the line Qxc2 Rxc2 Ng3. Uri
