That doesn't help.  First, chesspartner didn't set interface for a long time.
Most still don't.  Second, the interface variable can be changed to anything you
want after the interface has set it.  Common trickery.

But in my case, I am not on when these games are played.  So all I have to go
by is the 'kibitz' that goes into the log files.  If it isn't there, I won't
have a clue.

You can't depend on anything that the interface can set, because the user can
set it to something else later.  Ditto for tells, kibitzes, etc.  Xboard has
had a "cheater detection" feature for years.  But due to the +alias, a clever
operator can break it.
