> Why do you need to get your passward and user name removed? > You can simply stop to post and the practical result is the same. The result is the same only if you look through a very narrow pinhole, i.e. in the same sense that y=sin(x) and y=x are the same, as long as you're close enough to x=0. Consider for example how will the board owner look at moderation practice which results in an instant clear loss of 200 members who opt to unsubscribe (until the present moderators resign or new election). Most of the 200 may have not been posting at all, and a few that have been posting may come in and out, so the fact they won't be posting from now on is practiclly invisible. If the final authorities (the host owners) realize that some moderation practices will result in destruction of the forum, they will change the rules of the game, shortening the leash on which moderators migh trip. The forum can only gain in quality if rules continue to be tuned. And for that to happen a clear feedback, not just complaining words but actions, is invaluable. The "Remove Me" button, along with the publicly available counts (how many left today, last week, month,...; how many joined,...) gives such feedback and would be a useful tool for improving the forum.
