You've never been a moderator, so you haven't seen how things work these days. Steve will stay out of moderation issues to a large degree, but when he feels that things are getting silly, or that his business or reputation is in jeopardy, he will step in. He stepped in pretty seriously between my last term and the one following it, he used the period of transition to make a few rules. It wasn't the moderators who decreed that you now have to sign up here with your real name. There are even some moderation issues that fit into a gray area between Steve and the Moderators. For instance, this is Steve's *site*, and Steve has the right to protect his site. In my last term, Steve felt that a member was attacking his site, so he blocked that member's IP address. This is Steve's board. The current battle is about peope with hurt feelings about stuff that CCC moderation didn't even have much to do with Bob. Bob turned off a thread. Big fucking deal. People are calling for a revolution against -- what exactly? People who are into this controversy solely because they want to express their antibobism, should remember that Bob is here as the result of an election, and that he's one of three in charge, and presumably they have their own process such that Bob either represents them has been given freedom to moderate by them, and that regardless of what is going on it will only last until the end of January. bruce >> You are here because >>of the courtesy of Mr. Schwartz to allow you to be here. >> > >Mr Schwartz has an executive power since he currently controls the on/off >switch.
