I don't think a single person has suggested that he stop playing whatever kind
of tournaments he wants.  The objection was creating sensational titles for
these "basement" events.  IE "world cup event".  What would a new person think
when they saw that?  Would they draw the _wrong_ conclusion?

That was the point.  _not_ the event.  The "name" of the event.
