Thanks for the update!

Here's an 'off the wall' idea - why don't you suggest that Mindscape produce
their own crack for CM8000 so that it doesn't need the CD!  The 'crack / patch'
need not be widely publicised.

The logic is as follows.  The copy protection is only really meant to stop the
casual 'pirate'.  If the crack was not widely publicised then 99.9% of the
casual pirate probably wouldn't find out about it.  The determined hackers will
crack it anyway and probably distribute the crack on the internet - so it
wouldn't affect them.  Then there are the chess computer fans - i.e. us.  We
would be able to use CM8000 freely on laptops etc.

I must say that if CM 8000 has some mechanism whereby you can't simply burn a
copy then I think asking for the CD every time is overkill (IMHO).

Anyway - looking forward to testing the latest version of The King - the first
new version in two years!!
