But, as for "greatly improved" compared to CM6000, it depends on who you ask. The MAIN (intended) difference between 7000 and 6000 was the interface. Many people liked the change, some did not. I, personally, did like it. As for 8000, there's a new engine, the ratings are going to be more accurate (although the "style" of the players remains pretty much unchanged from 7000), and the "intelligence" of the speech has only been somewhat improved (i.e. including a few more pieces of information) since CM6000. As for things that you do not mention (specifically, learning features since 6000), there's many new Josh Waitzkin annotated games (plus a new endgame tutorial), Bruce Pandolfini's Rating Exam AND a new "Rate My Play" feature that is going to be called "Match the Masters". And, probably most interesting to users here, WinBoard compatibility. jm
