Misleading thread titles has become something of a "hot" topic recently and I have a few points I'd like to make about it. Some people seem to find this quite annoying and they have a point. What practical way do people have to judge the content of a thread if the title is misleading? The funny thing is, this seems annoy people only when the title is misleading from the beginning, but it happens frequently that the topic in a thread drifts far afield from the title of the thread and nobody seems to care. The most obvious example of this is when someone posts with a title like, "blah blah (NT)" and other people respond to it without removing the "(NT)". There is an easy fix. Instead of complaining about it, just change it. Respond with a post using a title you think is more appropriate. Explain your change within the post and it should be no big deal. Even if people don't agree 100% with the change, it's okay. At least other people reading the change in title will have a better idea of what the thread is about. For example, let's say you think this is a bad idea. You can respond with the new title, "This is Rubbish!" Of course, the fact that you actually changed the thread title to make your point is rather ironic, but nobody is stopping you!
