If your program is out of book then the data can help you to save time in the opening(your program is probably not going to find better move by search unless you believe that your program is clearly better than the program that was used for the data CAP). I agree that trusting the data without checking it when you are in book is not a good idea and it is better to check manually every novelty in the CAP data. Uri
