No you did not give wrong informations.
People are never satisfied, it seems.
Don't release any information before the product is out, and they say "we won't
buy a product without knowing its performances".
Give informations (or don't forbid the beta testers to give informations) and
some are going to complain anyway...
Especially if the results are good I would say.
