Hi from an erlier thread i learned that the new rebel package with gambit tiger ect. will support winboard engines. I had a few specific questions about that, that i was hoping could be answered. First as many of you know, chessbase winboard support does not seem to work for all engines. Is this the case with the rebel package? Have any of you tried loading different winboard engins into it and what was the success rate? Second, chessbase allows the winboard engine to use the fritz book for example. Will rebel gives engines this option? And can it be turned off if you want the engine to use its own book? Third can a winboard engine loaded onto the rebel package connect to the icc like rebel can. I am very interested to the answer to these questions. I have written a winboard program. What would be nice is if I had a second program besides winboard to connect it to the icc. If it can use the rebel book that would be even better. This means programmers who have not made large books could use the rebel book when connecting their program to the icc. This would be a huge advantage for a lot of engines under 2500 that dont have large books yet. thanks Mike R Adams
