I downloaded chess partner and Pulsar seems to work with it. There may be a
few other problems over the long run but i think i can get it to work the
console log is very helpful. I played one complete successful game with chess
partner and Pulsar.
I have not tried internet play yet but as far as books go there is a
problem. Pulsar when playing in chess partner recieved the first move i made.
This means it had to decide from its opening book how to respond. How do i get
it to use chess partners opening book? To use the opening book I imagine it
would have to have the book make all the moves then send Pulsar a string of
moves when its out of book and have Pulsar think from that point. This is
similar to an adjourned game on icc.
Also does the download version come with a book. I dont see any *.bk files
but the main engine that comes with that program seemed to be using a book.
Also i tried createing a book from the latest twic issue and when i loaded it i
got an error. Not a strange malfuntion error but an error message with a chess
partner dialogue box. I dont know if it loaded the book anyway and didnt use it
or if it didnt load the book. Can chess parnter books be downloaded. I'd hate
to make a large book and have it not work because of a bad pgn file. And it
seems like its a slow book maker, 13 hours for 100K games. Anyway to date
Pulsar is recieving the first move and choosing its own reply and not using the
chess partner interface book.
