over last few years Shredder has totally dominated the world championship .now there seems to be a new force to be delt with (Tiger)it is not standing by like some of the others .here is my take on a few of the so called better programs. stars indicate how much i feel programs will be improved by next wcc 1.tiger = ******* 2.shredder = ***** 3.hiarcs = * 4.fritz = *** 5.crafty = **** 6.junior = ** 7.nimzo = * 8.rebel = **** 9.CM = * in this field if you stand on your past you have no future .thats what happened to programs like M-CHESS .at one time they were great but they failed to keep up with all the improvements so were left behind .thats also why Rebel is still there after all this time .if the faster improvements by tiger will be enough to over take shredder remains to be seen ,i believe shredder had a head start of 100 elo over field .
