My program beat MChess and Genius in that tournament, drew with Hiarcs, and lost
to Cheiron (?) and Fritz.

The game against Genius was a bizarre opening care of my automatically generated
book, where Genius ran afoul of a tactic while trying to smash my program.

The game with MChess was a game with a sacrifice in my book (of course I didn't
know it was there), followed by some fiddling around until MChess went after a
rook on a1 and then made a king safety mistake.

The game with Cheiron was a case where I went into the Alekhine 4 pawns courtesy
of my automatically generated book, and completely misplayed it and got wasted.

The game with Fritz must have been truly awful, becaus I don't remember it.
Fritz played white against my program in every single tournament game, regular
and blitz, until the Paderborn game last year.

The game with Hiarcs I was incredibly pissed off because the operator didn't
show up on time, and I was through with computer chess and wanted to get the
damned game over so I could catch a train so I could sleep in the train station
until it was late enough to catch a bus to the airport in order to catch my
10-hour flight, involving not just one but two airline meals. Thorsten ended up
operating the program until the real operator showed up. Hiarcs just flat out
dropped a pawn but my program couldn't smash it, because it was stupid.

My program also beat Shredder, as usual, but this time it managed to finish
ahead of it.

If you haven't operated a program you wrote, in an overseas tournament, you
should try it. Nothing like wanting to barf for six hours, then having to eat
some random dried piece of who knows what, because the next round is starting
now, wanting to barf for five more hours, and getting out right after all the
restaurants have closed.
