Subject: Dutch Open: Gambit Tiger leads

Hi,

Just returned home from Leiden, where I saw Gambit Tiger doing a great job. The
games were hard fought, some highlights follow below:

Tiger vs. XiniX
In this game XiniX surprised with a dubious line, staying 8 games longer in
book! But the resulting position was bad and Tiger got in command very quickly.
Its pieces jumped into the Black position, winning heavy material. Good
positional game.

ANT vs. Tiger
Some 30 moves not much happened, I was not particulary happy after the opening.
A solid Alapin against my Sicilian was countered by a solid line of Tiger, but
ANT chose a line leading to an early queen's exchange. As so often one mistake
proved enough to get the Tiger going: As soon as ANT allowed the exchange of the
black knight versus the bishop, it was all over. Good endgame!

Tiger vs. The King
A dubious opening line by The King gave Tiger the perfect position: No queen's
on the board (King is especially dangerous with queens ON the board!) and some
weak black pawns. On top a better bishop and no active Black plan. Tiger slowly
outplayed The King, that had no chance in this game. An important and impressive
win by Tiger!

So far nobody has been able to prove even a slight advantage against Gambit
Tiger, that plays extremely safe and confident. But it is too early to
celebrate, because Quest remains a dangerous opponent. And Tiger has to play
Patzer and Kallisto, that can be tough opponents.

See you all next week!

Jeroen
