On move 25 of this game I played 25Rb6 against Fritz5.32 and CM6000 to
see how they would respond. Both played 25...NxR which I believe is a
mistake. Both registered a negative score for white on move 25 while analysing
for black The game continued in the following fashion 26bxc6 Bxf4 27cxd7
Bxe3+ 28Kf1 Bxc1 29Qc6 a6 30Bc4 b5.Bxb5 Fritz at this stage is acknowledging
defeat.
I am not a strong chess player and would appreciate opinions on my
continuation for white on move 25 I think it was a mistake for black to take
the rook. Both Fritz and CM6000 predicted the response 26RxN so that may have
accounted for their failure to register white's threats.
Of course black can play 26...Qc8 rather than Bxf4 but this line fares just
as badly.I've posted the game and the position to facilitate analysis.
I'd be interested to know whether other machines see 25... NxR is wrong and
play something different and whether they can find a better defence. My
computer is a Celeron 460 with 128mb of ram
