Subject: The problem with ChessBase 8: It doesn't have an open API

The problem with ChessBase 8 is that it doesn't have an open API. It should have
a complete event model, etc. If it did, I predict that the market would be
flooded with wonderful add-ons within six months.

Here are some of the things I would like to see:
1. Database query language
This is a personal pet peeve. ChessBase's search functions are impressive
only to people who are not familiar with databases. Ten lines of SQL running
over a properly structured database would outdo anything that ChessBase does.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a chess search programming language that would
interface with ChessBase?

2. Engine interface
The current engine interfaces are a kludge.

3. ICS interface

Question: Is there anything that we can do to get ChessBase to create such an
API?
