Now, instead of taking that at face value, it seems better to look at the *forward* positions and see what white's position looks like for each of them. Sort of "mini-maxing" with the available data. Don't know how many forward steps are valuable, and certainly if a position is suggested and we don't have forward data for that slot, we may have reached a stopping point. My point is that instead of taking the current position and inquiring only on that record, it is far better to inquire of forward positions. At least the next generation forward at a bare minimum. At the same time control, the data will be at least 2-3 times better than the data for the current position.
