I know Steen and Dan for a while, we met on some tournaments and i had the pleasure to talk with them about knowledge in chess programs. Steen always worked on this field, and we all had to learn that gandalf is a unique program that can kill especially the famous tops (remember 1993 munich: "My name is Suurballe, Steen Suurballe !" and and and). My "intention span" :-))) as you call it is indeed limited. Yes. In the moment limited to a few programs. Computerchess is not my only hobby, as you maybe know. > This one program always seem to be the hero, alone >amidst the cruel bean counters. Only with Thorsten Czub by its side. If you would have read my post, you wrote an asnwer to, you would have seen that i added Gandalf into the list of knowledge programs. Please correct me if Gandalf isn't planning while playing and correct me when you have observed that Gandalf is a bean-counter. Then my observation from the games would be wrong, indeed. >OTOH, if you're basing your conclusions on Gandalf 3 then Steen Suurballe should >have received a lot of praise earlier. I haven't seen that anywhere. Besides, >the novelty of the concept you commend would be limited. May it be that your reading capacities are somehow limited ? From time to time, when they come out with a new product, i do try to buy the programs. It is not my job to inform you about a product that comes from your mother country, isn't it ?! maybe you oversaw my posts about gandalf. >If you're just fond of knowledgeable programs, why not say so? I am sure you must have overseen some publications of mine. There you can see that although we have internet, people still can be very misinformed about whats going on. What a pity. >Instead of >attacking other programs and author's without supporting fact. I don't see what you mean ? Context ? I attacked Gandalf ? Is it possible for you to speak in a sensible way, with sentences i can , with my limited capacities in opposite to your infinite, follow ? >I guess it's only >a question of time before you miraculously discover another gigantic conceptual >novelty, unknown to the bean counters of the world. Of course i know Gandalf for a long time. And i was always a Gandalf fan. Was this a mistake ?! May i have to give back my disks, cd's and handbooks?? Sorry when i stepped on some of your intimite "rights" concerning Gandalf. I will in future not again step into denish terretory, as i have seen it is a difficult terrain for foreigners... they still have some of those vikings. >Mogens. THOR sten !
