I hate to burst your buble. But, Windows Millenium can run on a dual processor
motherboard, however, it will only use ONE processor. It cannot use the second
processor. If you run Windows 9x family, it can only use ONE processor. You
can go to the microsoft web site to get more information about the Windows 2000
family, besides it would be bad marketing for Bill Gates to sell a dual
processor OS for less than $245.00 Canadian for the OEM version, not the
upgrade. The technician who provided you with the information certainly has his
information wrong. The link to microsoft site is:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/guide/platform/overview/default.asp
Let me repeat, only Windows NT Family from Microsoft can run multi-processors,
let's not suggesting that UNIX is not capable of multi-processor. Some Linux
versions will support multi-processors, not sure which version, though.
