They do sound really bad. There was a computer tournament they entered. The rules of the tournament allowed multiple entries by each company. They entered something like 4 identical computers. One of them had a great score, and ended up playing another one that had a bad score. The one that had a bad score was winning, so they resigned on its behalf, and the other one won the tournament. The USCF magazine turned into their advertising arm for a long time, which is one reason I didn't play much USCF rated chess during the 80's. I wasn't interested in chess computers at the time, and I didn't know about this tournament, I just thought that the magazine sucked because it was one giant ad for Fidelity. bruce
