Boy, you got me.  It might be having trouble because of it still being a
read-only file even after after being on the harddrive, because I think
Chessbase has all the files one their CDs with read-only file attributes.

So try this, in the File Manager or Explorer, highlight the file hiarcs.ctg (you
know, the one on your HD), and hit alt-enter, and you sould get that thing that
shows you the file attributes, and if there's a check in the box that says
"read-only", then remove that check, see if that fixes the problem for you.
