Hi I have played 1000 of games under the fritz GUI and "sometimes" (very seldom) fritz repeats lost openings even if the book-option is "optimized" to maximum. The reason could be that if you loose a couple of times with certain lines there will be ONLY one ( or few) "good" lines left to play! All gandalfs white games is "d4" games with a score of 5/7 so fritz needs to try "something" . If I look at the games and were fritz I would play 1..d5. Nevertheless fritz has also both won and lost with 1..d5. so...? steen suurballe
