Thanks for posting this interesting piece of news . I probably would never have
thought of looking at the Millenium website as they don't change it very often .

This is one of the threads that sometimes make me want to post something nasty :
sure it was a link that contained also commercial hyperbole but well : this was
an ad ! And it _did_ contain most interesting information IMHO .

I also don't think that it is a very good idea for the moderators to throw
additional oil in the fire .

And why is it so important to tell the world that you don't want to pay 129.- DM
for the package ? Big deal ! Who does force you ?

What does the package contain then ? Shredder 5 , some new experimental
two-minds-one-judge-Shredder ( that definitely sounds extremely interesting to
me ) , the amateur world champion version of SOS , Nimzo2000 and 4 Nalimov CDs .

If I am not completely mistaken a similar set of Nalimov CDs has recently been
sold as "Endgame Turbo" for the price of a full-featured chessprogram by some
other company .

New features include full winboard support : I am really looking forward to be
able to play against the Winboard gang with my favourite GUI .

Well , everybody is free to form his own opinion but for me it is one of the two
packages I will get for myself this year .

Now Millenium are supposed to be the bad guys ( wasn't it Chessbase a year ago
:-) ) ? " I don't want to pay their lawyers !" Oh , man !

And why is it so strange that Shredder 5 is supposed to be 100 ELO above Fritz6a
? This doesn't seem to be _that_ unlikely to me ( I don't talk about Fritz 7
here ) .

OK , my post isn't any better than the ones I critized but maybe evens it out a
little and it was nice to have my say , too :-)

Back to business :

a.) Anyone already seen this new double-headed Shredder ? This really sounds
thrilling .

b.) Anyone noticed that at last it is more or less officially confirmed that
Genius is history ?

Regards.

pete

PS : who is _no_ Millenium Beta tester :-))
