Download a shareware called AfterBurner 2.2 (be careful to download this
version, and not another one).
With this program, you can OVERCLOCK you Palm. It will run faster, without risk,
so the chess program will play much stronger.
Actually the only risk is to have the Palm hang if you try to run too fast. If
it happens, you lose all the data in it, so you need to make a backup of your
data first (a HotSync is enough to have a complete backup of the Palm in your
PC). Use the highest speed that does not make your Palm crash.
With AfterBurner 2.2, I have been able to speed up my PalmIIIx by a factor of
2.5 (now it runs at 26MHz instead of 16MHz, and with no wait states)!!! This
gives ChessGenius an increase of 100 elo points (approx).
