But I predict the most likely excuse would be that Kramnik's play was too conservative to produce exciting chess. Of course that doesn't explain losing games, so it won't work too well. No excuse will work, if he loses, Kramnik was the better man this match, period. It will be interesting to see what Kasparov tries to shake up the play, the pressure is on big time.
