The best beginning book, IMHO, was "How Computers Play Chess" by Levy & Newborn, the last in a series of similar books by Levy (all of which I found helpful). Other books I like are "Chess Skill in Man and Machine" edited by Frey (listed as special-order by Amazon), "Computers, Chess, and Cognition" edited by Marsland & Schaeffer (listed as out-of-print), and of course Ernst Heinz' book. None of the books by itself is really complete enough to be called an intro to chess programming. But a book or three, combined with various resources on the net (CCC, etc.) might suffice... -Dan. >>>Also, what is the url address in the Internet where I can find all necessary >>>information for a new beginner in chess programming and C & C++ programming as >>>well? >> >>http://www.icdchess.com/ccc/resource/links/index.html
