Claudio, SSDF rates Sapphire II at 2013. I assume that this is 40moves/120min. That means that if each move was 30 seconds there would be a rating drop to roughly 1800. That is still a pretty good rating . I had a Sapphire I and it was a bit weaker but lots of fun for a quick game. If you win then all the better. You could buy a PentiumIV 1.333Ghz machine and put GambitTiger 1.0 on it for a rating of 2700+ and be beaten repeatedly. The chess play on the big machine would be much more "aesthetic" than what you would get with the Sapphire. The Sapphire, however, is much more portable. Have fun, Tim Frohlick On October 24, 2000 at 22:16:14, Claudio Duarte wrote: >Hello, > >I have a Sapphire II from Novag, which plays at 64 different strength levels. >Is there a site where I could find the approximate ELO rating for some of those >levels?
