SSDF rates Sapphire II at 2013.  I assume that this is 40moves/120min. That
means that if each move was 30 seconds there would be a rating drop to roughly
1800.  That is still a pretty good rating .  I had a Sapphire I and it was a bit
weaker but lots of fun for a quick game.  If you win then all the better. You
could buy a PentiumIV 1.333Ghz machine and put GambitTiger 1.0 on it for a
rating of 2700+ and be beaten repeatedly. The chess play on the big machine
would be much more "aesthetic" than what you would get with the Sapphire.  The
Sapphire, however, is much more portable.
