Pete, I think there is good reason why many of the top players don't respect the FIDE which has always been political (communist), having favored Karpov in the past and hurting the chances of those they do not like or who speak up. I see no reason to criticize any match outside of FIDE control until they get their act together and become less political themselves. Otherwise, we will see much of the same with the strongest players having matches outside of the FIDE for a while longer, similar to the days before the FIDE. Mark
