That's is correct! I have the Hiarcs732 and installed the Opening Tree to my hard drive in my Gateway that has the new ME system and as soon as i finish the install i play several games of chess. I see that it is using the opening book that i just installed to my hard drive because it is very fast in the opening and i don't hear the CD turning nor do i see the access light come on when i make a move. Also, all the opening book lines are showing in the display. I now exit the Hiarcs and return again, but without using the CD for the opening book and sometimes all the opening lines are showing in the window and then i know that Hiarcs will play from it's Opening Book that i just installed to the Hard drive. Now, if i exit Hiarcs and return to play there will be no Opening book displayed and Hiarcs will start to think from move #1. So, what i'am saying is after the Opening Tree installation i can play several games and it is happy to use it's opening book from the hard drive and if i exit hiarcs and return without the CD it sometimes will play once more with its book, but will never use it's book the second time i exit Hiarcs and then return to play! I want to say that i had no problems installing the Opening book to my hard drive in my Compaq that is using Win.95. Hiarcs is happy to play from it's opening book every time i play. It's only a problem with my Gateway using Windows ME. When Hiarcs won't use it's book i then go to load opening book to make sure- it's there, and it shows that it's loaded. I then click on the Hiarcs book that it shows high-lighted just to make sure and it shows the Hiarcs.ctg file, so i right click to check it's properties and it shows 127 mb in it's book, so i then click the "open" tab and it says that the Opening book is already loaded!? I tried going into the F5 ini file that someone suggested, so when it told me the book was already loaded this is where i searched. The book's file path was correctly shown in the F5.ini file! I made sure the box was not checked for the Read Only that someone here stated. I'am at a loss for what else to do, so i'll wait to here from someone who may be able to give another helpful pointer! Best Regards, Terry
