Why these short engine names? It would be easier if you called them Yace_023 and
Gandalf_432f. This makes it easier for the casual observer. Just a suggestion.
Are you using your Notebook (PII-400)?

You and me both.

Apart from the ones you've already mentioned I was thinking about LG2000. I'm
quite sure that Gandalf will have difficulties considering CPU and timecontrol,
but I haven't tried the matchup myself.

Latest and a good choice as well.
>zchess20 (2.02 supposed to be stronger, I need that to test that)
You could try asking Franck Zibi.
I mailed him a few 40/20' games against Gandalf with the new 2.2 version, which
were all won by Gandalf. I deleted them, but Franck still has them I think.
>crafty 17.13 (gandalf has a thing with crafty, probably allergic)
Hmm... I haven't discovered anything special from my own limited tests or those
posted by Christian Koch and Frank Quisinsky. It's close but with enough games
the difference starts to become apparent.
Could it be hardware? The Gandalf results seems to improve with more MHz, or am
I mistaken?
>wbnimzo200b ( would be interesting...)
Don't know much about this Nimzo, but Gandalf might be able to compete at that
timecontrol.
A few 45m+10s games with ZChess 2.2 against Yace 0.23.06 :o) is posted below.
Configuration is Athlon 800MHz, ponder off and 32Mb hash.
