Here is the prize money for GM's. GM having black pieces: $2000 for win, $500 for draw, nothing for loss. GM having white pieces: $1000 for win, $250 for draw, nothing for loss. GM can choose the black pieces every time in order to win more prize money. Incentive for testing the top programs can happen. You can disagree about how much prize money, but the proportional layout given above seems reasonable. The time control can be tournament (40 moves / 2 hours, etc.) or faster (Game in 30 minutes). One last thing: use a parallel processor (about 5 GHZ). Jonathan (81st message)
